A LITTLE ABOUT NAOMI FINO
It perhaps all started around 1988 with a trip to Playa Del
Carmen, Mexico that my mom took me on when I was about 12 years old. She gave me the option of staying in a big
resort hotel with a pool or we could stay in a funky hotel and have an
adventure. I chose the adventure and boy
was it ever!
Then about 16 years ago, I planned my own international trip
for the first time to Costa Rica. I fell
madly in love with Costa Rica and cried when I had to leave. Since then, I have gone back countless times
(I stopped officially counting around 10 and believe the number is around 20 at
this point.)
Writing has been a passion of mine since I was a teenager,
although I mostly wrote poetry. In 2013,
I embarked on approximately 3 months of travels through Central and South
America visiting Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia. Initially I began writing long mass emails to
friends and family to keep in touch while I was away, and this quickly morphed
into an impromptu and haphazard blog, which was by no means easy to start with
sketchy internet abroad and a slow laptop (finally replaced a few months ago).
I have continued my blog for many reasons but a few are that
I love travelling, I love writing, I love writing about travelling, and I would
be honored to share my stories with you, unless you are travelling with me and
then they may be ABOUT you.
My goal is to post a substantial blog about once every week
on average. I put a huge amount of time
and effort into my blog, especially the lengthier pieces, so I really
appreciate everyone who takes the time to read them. Time is a valuable commodity and I don’t take
that for granted. While my blogs usually
are stories about my travel experiences and I do my best to embed things of
value such as specific details, recommendations, and interesting tidbits that
you may not find elsewhere, I will be expanding it in the near future to
include valuable resources, especially regarding Costa Rica and California and
areas that I know a thing or two about, like fabulous beaches, excellent
cocktails, fantastic hot springs, and the best infinity pools to have marathon
soaks in.
Currently I am living in California with dreams of living in
Costa Rica either part-time or full-time.
Until then, I am exploring places closer to home, plotting and scheming
my next “Adventura” in Costa Rica and lands beyond. I hope
my stories inspire you to travel or, if you are heading to Costa Rica, solid
information to help you have the best travel experience of your life.
